About

I fell in love with photography as a child when my Granddad gave me a Kodak instamatic camera. Later, in my teens, Dad bought me a Practica BCA S.L.R. and a darkroom set up from a work colleague – my darkroom passion was ignited!

Following a BTEC in photography in Leeds, I moved to Surrey to study for a degree at Farnham.

After graduating from West Surrey College of Art and Design in 1996, I moved to Walthamstow East London where I am an artist and teach photography.  In 2008 I opened Rachel’s Darkroom, where I run  B&W photographic darkroom courses.

  1. Hi Rachel, I just found your website and was trying to email you through that to ask to be added to your mailing list. I too have a love of B&W photography and it is so hard to find a course that does not include photoshop. I would like to develop my skills in traditional photography and I’m intrigued by your use of Victorian ect methods.

    Thanks

    Hello Rachel,

My name is Catherine, I’ve been reading your blog and I’m impressed by the clean presentation and great quality your blog has. I like your writing style and the beautiful and interesting photographs you feature. You have an interesting world portrayed here.

That is why I would love to add your blog in the blog directory that I admin. It’s a high web traffic, Page Rank 5 blog directory named Blogdire, http://www.blogdire.com, it’s visit count grows exponentially every day and has high quality gained by listing great blogs like yours, because it does not have advertisement nor pop-ups.

Having your blog listed in my directory, will definitely improve it’s page rank in search engines, (like Google), and you will have many visits to leave nice comments and feedback, and of course, more people to enjoy your blog and share your interests.

In exchange of becoming part of the directory, all I ask is a simple link to my other site, I can assure you, the operation is extremely simple and there is no money involved.

Let me know if you are interested and what you think.

    Kind regards,

    Cathy
